The greatest motivating factor behind my passion for bodywork was borne from an enthusiasm for activity and a desire to embrace fitness. The weight gain I experienced as an inactive adolescent came as an unpleasant surprise after having enjoyed an active childhood. From 11 to about 30, my struggle with getting enough activity was met with a continuous battle to keep on the leaner side of a fine line.
Coming to an understanding that activity had to be enjoyable was the key to my success. In fact, this understanding taught me that the pleasant by-products of enjoying a fun activity are a serendipitous way of life. Fitness is more sustainable when it is the pleasant by-product of a fun activity. Conversely and coincidentally, financial success and happiness are also more sustainable when they are the pleasant by-products of performing an activity one loves.
I feel very lucky to have learned this lesson, and to have found an outlet for my curiosity of biomechanics which results in so much enjoyment! The body in which I live is my laboratory. What I learn, I translate to others' bodies. I only hope you enjoy the experience as much as I do :-)
